Talladaga Nights: The Ballad of Rickey Bobby a three star comedy film, directed by Adam Mckay. The story of Ricky Bobby is about a boy with his father's inspiration that grows up to be a top NASCAR driver. As Ricky lives glory with money, friends and success another talented driver enters the scene. The competition causes Ricky to mentally fold under pressure resulting in a tragic depressed, period where Ricky's loses almost everything he once owned. Will Ricky recover and get back on the path to glory?
Ricky Bobby, starring Will Ferrel is the main character of the movie. Ricky learns in the film that there is going to be people out there with much more talent than he has. Cal Naughton Jr., played by John C. Reilly, takes on the role as Ricky Bobby's best friend. Ricky's selfishness during his winning period pulled Cal and Ricky apart. During the time of Ricky's mental breakdown Cal steals Ricky's old life and belongings. The competitive driver, better known a Jean Jirard played by Sacha Baron Cohen plays as a Frenchman that left the Formula One to come to NASCAR. Adam Mc Kay was also a writer of the film along with Will Ferrel. These two writers are known for their humor in other movies similar to Talladega Nights such as, Step Brothers and Anchorman.
My personal opinion of the film is that it was very, very amusing. Most of the humor is very comical and well written, but there is also humor that is derogatory or mildly offensive to some which takes away some of the humor that could be there if it was written more appropriately. I am a big fan of Will Ferrel's acting and also John C. Reilly, when they are together they have good chemistry that make each other even funnier. The movie rarely gets serious, but when the actors portray the characters as being serious a really good sense of humor builds up. Another movie that we see these to actors using that humor in is Step Brothers.
Talladega Nights in no doubt a funny movie with a childish, less serious sense of humor. The character play the part very well which makes the movie more enjoyable to watch. The story line is alright but, almost typical throughout all movies in this genre and some of the humor can be offensive at times.

About Me
My name is Nathan Playford and I'm a student here at Elmira District Secondary School. When I'm not at school expanding my knowledge, I'm usually doing one of these few things: working, playing hockey and video games, motorcycling or hanging out with my friends. I work for a general contracting business. Everyday after school I work around the job site completing various tasks. My last semester was academically busy, so it is a relief to have a semester with more classes that I enjoy. This semester I expect to keep a relatively high grade average and get all the courses and community hours I need in order to graduate.
